Vienna Airport. The Austrian AI startup Digicust, specializing in the automation of customs processes, has successfully completed its pre-Series A financing round. As part of this final expansion, Jet Investment is investing €950,000 through its venture capital fund Jet Venture 1, SICAV, while the Look.AI Fund is contributing €250,000. Together with existing investors, the total volume of the seed round amounts to €2.3 million. An additional €550,000 comes from selected private investors in the industry and from the Digicust co-founding team. Through the FlexCo conversion, they were given the opportunity to convert their invested amounts into equity. Digicust is also receiving support from Austria Wirtschaftsservice (aws), which is providing €500,000 in financing through its "Equity Leverage" guarantee program. In addition, Digicust was able to secure a further 50,000 euros from a marketing and internationalization program for the development and cultivation of international target markets.
Since 2020, Digicust has been developing an AI-powered platform that automates complex customs workflows for logistics companies, customs brokers, and exporters, significantly reducing processing times and error rates. The platform utilizes modular AI components for intelligent document processing, automatic tariff classification, export control, customs audits, customs declaration completion, and many other functions. The solution is already in use in several European countries, employed by over 60 corporate clients, and has processed more than 500,000 customs declarations to date. Digicust places particular emphasis on trustworthy AI and is certified according to IEEE standards by TÜV SÜD.
"With this final increase, we have provided Digicust with precisely the right interim financing ahead of an upcoming Series A round. This lays the foundation for further expansion and prepares us for the global scaling of our solutions," says Borisav Parmakovic, CEO of Digicust. "The fact that investors like JetVentures and Look.AI consider our technology to be leading and future-oriented in the customs sector confirms our course and our product strategy."
Kamil Levinský, Managing Director at Jet Ventures, adds: "Digicust is setting a new standard for the automation of customs processes in Europe because the combination of proprietary technology and deep AI know-how enables customers to significantly increase accuracy and productivity in customs clearance."
